I am looking for the name of a song (and the artist who performed it) I believe I heard on CFNY in the 80s or early 90s. The song has the refrain Im a lousy lover. Im a lousy lay. The song is primarily sung and recited by a man but half way through a woman with a French accent (presumably his disappointed lover) is added to the mix. Does this sound familiar to any one?

Mark:

The song you are after is titled "Lousy Lover" and was done by Look People. You can find it on the "A Canadian Alternative Vol. 2" CD.

Hope this helps,

david

Actually, the Look People are covering the song. The original songwriter is Al Mader, and he performs as the Minimalist Jug Band; he started out in Toronto but is now based in Vancouver. You can find the song on his CD, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD -- email Red Cat Records in Vancouver for a copy, and see my blog, http://alienatedinvancouver.blogspot.com for a March 2006 interview with Al!
