here are the lyrics (what I could understand)

its just the rain falling down on me
its just the rain falling down on me

goodbye sweetheart
i must go
goodbye to the one
i've ?always known

we ??talked/took the ???
and made it rain

its just the rain falling down on me
its just the rain falling down on me

goodbye my friend
its been nice
worth all those years
of hapiness

we fought so long
on that ???

its just the rain falling down on me
its just the rain falling down on me

oh my love
is shattered
by the rain
on me

its just the rain falling down on me

rain is coming down on me
see the past when i look behind
rain ??? got the ??ropes of me
leaves me cold
leaves me with the pain

it's just the rain
it's just the rain

...down on me

Hey Rose, man you have got a stumper here. Hopefull one of the music genuises here will crack it in no time.

From John C. Jones, 11/13/2003 9:20:36 PM:

Rose, It sounds like it was recorded from radio, do you know what year it was recorded, was it recorded from a station in Canada or the US, Europe... ??

From Gina, 11/14/2003 9:43:38 AM:

This is probably no help, but I did a search for those lyrics and found 3 artists:
Roxette- "The Rain"
Primal Scream- "Carry Me Home"
and some song by a boy band called Dreamstreet?
But the lyrics you posted really remind me of a 90's dance song.
And it's not "Red Rain" by Peter Gabriel right?

From Gina, 11/14/2003 9:49:04 AM:

I guess I should have listened to the clip first. It is obviously none of the things I mentioned.

From SilentRose, 11/15/2003 6:23:45 PM:

thanks for help Gina, i too tried looking through other songs with "rain" in them...peter gabriel etc.. :)

John: i recorded it from the radio in 1992/93 on a local Toronto radio station...hope this helps...(i also heard it played twice that year, so it could possibly have been a 'current' song) but i'm not sure.

Painkiller: i'm crossing my fingers! ;)

RE: Alex Caplin

There is an older site where you can find the lyrics to the songs on the first two albums:
members.aol.com/caplin. For reprints or other requests you may be able to get alex at alex@watercaplin.com. I suppose someone could also ask questions at spacetyme2000@yahoo.com
