No,it is "Hey You" by The Start, from their (I think) only album, "The Start". I still have it on vinyl, and it used to be plyed on "The All-Night Show"

my mistake - I just pulled the album from my library...
The Start - Hey You
Capitol ST6475 1980

Hey You (T. Blaise)

That kid quit school today ya know
To join a rock'n' roll band
His parent gave him the boot you know
His dad even kicked him off his land

It only goes to show
You gotta be a fool to like that rock 'n' roll
Hey I hear the kid's gotta record out
I think this is it playing on the radio

Hey you crawl out of your hole
You're gettin' too old
You better start rockin it and not knockin it

Hey you what you tryin to do
You're tryin to play it cool
You better start rockin it
Not mockin it

Hey you, you really think you're so sweet
You're shuffling your feet
You better start rockin it not knockin it

Hey you you really think you're neat
Cuttin up that beat
You better start rockin it and not mockin it

Hey you crawl out of your hole
You're gettin' too old
You better start rockin it and not knockin it

Hey you who you tryin to fool
You're try

From woody, 4/25/2004 10:02:35 PM:

I'll see if I can get a few seconds from disc onto my PC.
My tape deck overloads my PC Line-In, and distorts the audio. Any ideas? I thought I might put a equalizer in between, as an attenuator, but don't have one anymore ;-( I think they went out of fashion with mullets.

Ross:

You can find the 45 or the LP on GEMM (http://www.gemm.com), there's a few copies listed for sale.

david
