Not much to go on here. Possibly the song "Ship of fools"?

From audiofool, 3/4/2004 5:04:43 PM:

Burnout - World Party or Grateful Dead ?

From Burnout, 3/5/2004 4:03:01 PM:

hmm...I guess World Party..not really sure and I don't know too much about the Dead.

From audiofool, 3/7/2004 8:05:30 AM:

The Dead's song of that title was recorded in 1974, so that leaves them out.
But there's also:

Six Months in a Leaky Boat - Split Enz
Shipbuilding - Robert Wyatt (of Soft Machine)
Wait Until Your Boat Goes Down - XTC

From mike, 3/26/2004 12:39:13 AM:

world party definitely did "ship of fools"

From Chez, 4/6/2004 11:37:54 AM:

Emily Dickinson used a particular pentameter and rythym to many of her poems that is the same as that found in the tunes to "The Yellow Rose of Texas" and The "Gilligans Island" theme song. A short example, sing this to gilligans island and you'll see what I mean:
BECAUSE I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.

Hope this helps

From audiofool, 4/14/2004 9:26:53 PM:

now that you mention it, "Friggin' In The Riggin' by the Sex Pistols shares a similar sense of phrasing " IT WAS on the good ship Venus
By Christ, ya shoulda seen us
The figurehead was a whore in bed
And the mast, a mammoth penis"

Please make sure that you post your teachers' answer to the assignment.

Perhaps not exactly what he was suggesting but at least it, er fits.....(you could even sing it to the Gilligan's Island theme, I suppose)
