Hi everyone,

Sorry for the missing Maie Pauts file, it's now there for anyone who wanted to hear it.

Anyone who has images or sounds they'd like to send along, please do! We want them all!

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

I've added a few more air checks - mostly station ID's, but the "Worst of 85" is fun.

I've finally gotten around to moving the BBS into the main page rather than having it pop open a second browser. Makes things a little cleaner, anyway.

Anyone remember the Pukka Orchestra?

Hi Oceanrain,

I'm actually featuring The Pukka Orchestra this week on my other web site, Nerosoft.com. You can read about them, download a song of theirs (Cherry Beach Express), and find a link to order their original album (previously very rare, just this past November re-released on CD). You'll find it here:

Congratulations on a great site!! I echo the many accolades you've received from various Spirit devotees.
I'm trying to get my hands on a compilation CD of The Box. It is called "A Decade of The Box". Anyone remember The Box out of Montreal? Any suggestions on where I may find this CD (online)would be appreciated. HMV.com doesn't have it. I'm not sure if it is published anymore.

I've downloaded Maie Pauts' final sign-off. Unfortunately, it's just the last 20 seconds or so of her good-bye.

I was listening live when she gave about a two minute fairwell and it was a really great message about the history of CFNY and her time at the station. Does anyone have Maie's full goodbye message that can be posted?

Hey Hey..
Anyone remember Craig Beezak doing the "pre-game" show on Saturday nights leading up to Club 102 ?

Anyone remember Catch22 ?
Anyone remember The Cotton Lounge ?

It's nice that this site can re-ignite those memories for me Thanks again Scott

Great site! I have a collection of about 20 tapes of old CFNY stuff circa about 1985. I will try to dig out some more material for the "sounds" site.

It was a sad day when my Spirit Of Radio license plate frame went missing from my car. I kid you not that someone undid the screws holding the frame in place and replaced my licence plate sans frame. Then I had to settle with a "modern rock" frame.

I am looking for the "counterfeit commercials" specifically the "Do you know me? - that's why I carry - Hemrroids, put the problem behind you with - new shake and break, turn ordinary chicken into - The all season radial tire - which is much more comfortable that cardboard - just press the button and you've got - Jock itch..." You get the drift - email me if anyone has a copy of this.

Keep up the good work!

John - in Bermuda but still listens to 102.1 by the miracle of the internet....

Also - anyone remember "Santa Geets"?

"Come on over here and sit on Santa's lap" - from the CFNY listener Christmas party circa 198?

Does anyone remember the contest that CFNY ran in the late 70's?
They wanted you to name the four most influential albums in the last twenty years of rock music, for a prize of 102 albums and a trip, I think.
But the contest went on for months and months because no one could name all of them.
I remember everyone could get Elvis's Greatest Hits, The Beatles' Revolver, and Hendrix's Electric Ladyland.
But no one could get the fourth.
It was almost a joke because it went on for so long and the prizes were so valuable.
Does anyone remember what the fourth album was?

Trust you are well and still pissed from the TREBLE.

I'm glad you noted Cockney Rebel. Listened to "Death Trip" last night. That is a CLASSIC track. What's Steve "The Phantom " Harley up too?

By the way, have you seen the video's of Ian McCullouch & Pete Wylie on the NME site? They a fantastic. The interviewer asks Ian who is the Prince of Liverpool? McCullouch says "Robbie Fowler" F--kin' magic!

Chat soon.

Did anyone hear the "Ongoing History" on Edge? It was the one about the goofy side of rock. They played a song by Nine Big Dogs called "Dougie's Lament". Did anyone tape that show? Or does anyone know where I can get that song? If so, please email me.
