I've been trying to identify a song that I remember hearing on Pete and Geetes' show. The chorus went

"I'm a super salesma-a-a-an, a super super saleman."

Can anyone help me out with the name of the artist and the correct title?

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am also looking for a mystery song. All I have is a line from the song. The singer is male, the music sounds somewhat like Depeche mode, but the singer doesn't.

"fate, close your eyes, patiently, before the tragedy passes"

or

"close your eyes, patiently, before the tragedy pass us by"

and then "Heaven might" or "Nevermind"

I will check back here.
Thanks for any help.

I hope someone knows the answer to this one, I've searched a bit for it, but haven't had any luck. I remember hearing a song on CFNY in early 1987 a few times and all I remember is a few words, which I believe were the chorus. It went something like "Going under, going under, town and country blues/ and if you ask for more, you'll get none at all". The funny thing is, I can't even recall if this song was any good, it's just one of those things I have to find out... Thanks very much if anyone can help.

... so I'm thinking a good project for the New Year would be to turn all my old CFNY mixtapes (1988-92 or so) into mp3s. Is there anyone maintaining an archive of similar recordings?

I believe in the 1982 Great Ontario Talant Search they had a great song called "Trans American Express"--presumably a good spoof on TEE. The song was played a number of nights. Because the name of the band was spoken rather than written, I can't really identify them. It might be "Hair Ebden," "Hare Ebden," or something like that. Any info--including were I can get a recording? Greatly appreciate it.

Note to Phil R. In the video of the Japanese Band "Pizzicato 5" and their song "Twiggy Twiggy" they drop the caption "The Revolution IS being televised."

Antarctica CFNY's played two songs inspired by KC and the Sunshine band. One was Shreikback's cover of that great song, "Get Down Tonight," and Dead or Alive did a sort of cover of "That's the way I live it."

For Claude:

I think the name of that song is "Touch" and I always thought it was by Information Society but I could never find it on any of their discographies.

Go to the January 28, 1986 air check on this site to hear if "The Moon is Blue" by Colourbox (female vocal) is the song you're thinking of.

Thnaks Dave, I needed a jumpstart to remember. I am allmost certain it was Colourbox though I havent got through the index yet. I didnt realize how extensive this site is , I am listening to Steve Forbert comercials and all and I'm in a lovely little time warp while typing this. I lived a block down from the little yellow house called 102.1 and drove a cab in Brampton. The only thing that made that bearable ( besides being paid in cash) was having the spirit to listen to all the time. Thanks agin
