KROQ in L.A. added The Arcade Fire to their rotation last week and it seems to me The Edge is following their lead on this. Creepy and sad really. Growing up I really, truly believed we had the best radio station in North America for new music. top 97 of 2004

O.K. I sent an e-mail to Barry Taylor cc'd to Alan and Alan answered back. I was questioning them as to why they were ignoring The Arcade Fire. Alan answered back that basically Merge would not send them any free copies of Funeral and when they did sit down and listen to it they decided it was "not the most radio friendly album." This week Barry did e-mail me to say they had added the band to their rotation. The Arcade Fire is on Conan O tonight. Tim Kingsbury is from Guelph and a really nice guy. They do deserve better from The Edge. top 97 of 2004

Drove 8 hours to see The Arcade Fire at the Irving Plaza in New York last Wednesday. David Byrne sang "This Must Be the Place" with them in the encore. Byrne was sooooo cute, he came to the sound check with his backpack and his bike helmet and he had tea with all us little friends of the band. David Bowie came to the show too, his second AF show in two nights! Canadian band poised for super stardom and being mentored by the giants of new music. The Edge is still trying to make me think Jakalope is important. Last week they told me all stinkin day the Nickleback drummer had retired! top 97 of 2004

Now if only the rest of Nickleback would retire from music.
