You want to petition that someone be fired from their livelihood solely because of their age??? Will you also later object if a young black disabled woman is hired, Ms. Avery?

Martin is in his early 40s and might be getting long in the tooth for the club gigs, but why a petition? That is ridiculous. The petition is written in a very amateur way. I'm guessing it's a friend of AJ's who wants him to get more airtime, despite the fact he has less personality than a piece of cheese...and not even a fancy cheese. Like Mozzarella.

A petition for Streek? Hahahahaha. That's a waste of time. Yes, Streek is in his 40's... maybe, and yes he has been there longer then most, and yes, we would rather still have Maie, or Dani instead of him, etc etc. But a petition??? What will Streek do if he doesn't do clubs? A paper route, police informant, join a Goddo cover band?

Never gonna happen... Martin has been around too long and knows too many people, not to mention a vast knowledge of the cfny archive which many of you newbies would have no clue. I remember going to club 102 (The Phoenix) on sat nights in 1991, the boys spinning Curve, Ride, Lush, Neds.. handing out free suds to all the boys and girls on the then uncrowded dance floor. He's a good guy. cheers

Martin may be in his 40's, but I'd rather have him spinning tunes instead of some obnoxious punk. He is a good guy. This petition thing is stupid.

Martin for me was always the not-so-good replacement when Chris Sheppard left. He does get progressivly more boring as years go by. Plus after meeting him on numerous occaisions he is a bit of wimp and he sucks at pool (My Girlfriend kicked his ass at pool in a bar in Guelph in the mid 90's).

Wow, Martin sucks at pool and you think he is a wimp. That's a great reason for having a petition and wanting someone fired. I heard Danger Boy is overweight, hits like a girl, , old, and can't toast bread; I think they should can him too. Streek, doesn't even know me, and he has bought me a beer twice, thanked me for coming out to the Phoneix, and has saved me from lining up and paying cover by putting me on the guest list. That is 10X more then any other radio personality has done for me, besides having the odd request played on the breakfast. Get a hobby.

i think it was in 90 or 91 he gave me and all my friends these "phoenix wings" style pin. Like a pin you would put on your jacket.. erm anyways, that pin saved us cover and line so many times. It actually still works today but I don't frequent the phoenix on sat's anymore.. I guess it's between feeling like a baby sitter, or having to sift through 20 songs of Linkin Park and a trendy new hot hot heat song til I hear something valid like Jesus and mary chain or the pixies. Just an opinion haha. He was too funny though, would stay in the pool parlour area meeting or attempting to meet all the chicks with an offer of "free pool anyone?" But getting him fired cuz he's too old? Yeah , Whatever! he's gonna be just fine ....

Martin bought my friends and I all a round of drinks one night, and always said 'hi' whenever he saw us again. He can be a little annoying, but he knows his music and he's a cool guy.

Marty bought me with beer, and since I love beer, I love Marty. AJ is a tool. We should have an AJ petition. Marty is the last dj from the old CFNY, I like that he still loves and get excited about new music.

Let me get this straight.

Many of you think Martin should stay on because he's a nice guy? And your making fun of the petition author for wanting him fired because he's too old?

What does being a nice guy have to do with being a good DJ?

My two cents: He should be fired because he's longwinded and stupid. And no I haven't met him. I've just suffered through his mindless ramblings on the Edge.
