BB Gabor is one of my favorite Canadian artists. His "Laser Love" is my favorite song of his. Unfortunately he committed suicide in 1990.

Thanks for the reminder Re; B.B.Gabor. I remember my first meeting with B.B. during an interview on the morning show at CFNY. I naively asked him "What does B.B. Gabor stand for?" His response"B.B. Gabor stands for the Queen." A talented musician with a great sense of humour. Sadly missed.

I saw a B B Gabor show at Shortts (Yonge & Eglinton area) around 80 or 81... great show! B B was one of those artists who helped make CFNY very special. I bought his "Girls Of The Future" LP after hearing Pete & Geets play a few tracks. Then there were "Soviet Jewelery" and "Moscow Drug Club", and his cover of "Big Yellow Taxi". A lot of clicks & pops on the ol' vinyl, from the very first play, but they just add to the charm.

Stars in Brampton, geez, I'd forgotten about that place. We'd drive in from Georgetown on weekends to sneak in underage back in 1980. Saw the Monks there (fall of '80-spring of '81?) Great memories, but man, was the smoke thick in that club! Wasn't Spankies right across the street?

While standing in line at the bank yesterday, i was surprised to hear a familiar refrain on the bank's background muzak... it was "Metropolitan Life" by B B Gabor!

It's on Pacemaker Entertainment, catalog PACE 027. The booklet is nicely done, though I'll never part with my vinyl (enclosed as it is in 12 by 12 inch pieces of art).

I also came across a rare one on a compilation called "Driving In The Rain 3AM - Songs To Get Lost With" on the Bongo Beat label, BB 1960-2. It's an instrumental called Celtic Cross. The details are a bit sketchy but it is clear that there is more unreleased material, much of it produced by Todd Rundgren.

Does anyone know of other available material outside of the two original albums?
