The Riddler mix- Chris Sheppard

Does anyone recall one Fri. or Sat. night Chris Sheppard playing a mix that contained The Riddler from the 1966 Batman show spewing out a riddle:

"before you trip over your cape Batman, riddle me this. There were 3 men in a boat with 4 cigarettes but no matches, how did they manage to smoke?"

Chris would play this over a few few times and the
background music was jazzy stuff with horns. Every now and then the riddler or Robin would say something.

Does anyone know is this is available anywhere, I want it in a bad way.

Ed.,

Before you trip over your cape Batman, riddle me this....
not a Shep Mix. that sample is from the BATMAN TV SERIES soundtrack LP by Neal Hefti & Nelson Riddle on Mercury Rec.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ct-details
The Track BATMAN RIDDLES THE RIDDLER is not on the above comp.

Some's been used on the song "Sounds from the Pink Sandbox(Batman)" by Emelio Pasquez. 1988

also batman samples show up in TODD TERRY PROJECT "Bango" 1988

Being a huge Chris Sheppard fan. I saw him perform on many occassions. And he would use that Batman sample Riddle over the course of the evening. Finnally giving the answer to the riddle over some musical cresendo. The place would go crazy! I last saw him perform in London U.K in December 2003.The brits seem to Love him as much as us Canadians.

If I recall...this is how they managed to smoke.

They threw one cigarette overboard and made it a cigarette lighter.

Man, I've watched that episode too many times.

BTW - The new Best of Images in Vogue is great!

Can you guys help me out? I'd would love to try & find some of Sheppard's old mega mixes of songs. I remember one in particular that used "Tainted Love", some samples from Sam Cooke's "Chain Gang", and a bit of Ravel's "Bolero"! I had read once on here that it was actually a company that put these great mixes together... possible a company named DMX from the UK? Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated! CHEERS!

Indeed it was. I have a few of the old 80's vintage DMX CD's that NY used. They had a full name as well, DMX being an acronym I believe. I *think* it was Digital Music Xpress or something like that. I'll try & find out if you want, but it was definatly DMX that did those mixes.

DMC = Disco Mix Club

Based out of the UK it was one of the many DJ Remix Services that provided exclusive mixes to Disc Jockeys worldwide.

Paul Dakeyne did many of the great megamixes Shep used to play.

Some of these ended up on CD but were never commercially available.

Try GEMM or eBay.

Also Google for more info.

Last I heard (several months ago) he was in UK/Europe doing a Love Inc. tour. One of the Love Inc. tracks hit top 10 in UK, so he was there supporting it.
