Hi, I am looking for the name of a group that was on the cfny new music search in the late 1980's I think?? I am almost positive the song was Peter and the Wolf. I know one line was "and the hunter came out of the woods"

I happened to see your post and thought I could help you out.
The song is called "Peter and the Wolf" and was by a band called "JFK". My wife had a feeling we had this song and found it on the 1989 FM102 modern rock cassette. Hope that helps you out.

Oh man I remember that tune too! That was a great one, among many others!! Man I miss the spirit, I wish it didnt have to disappear :o(

I also enjoyed that song and was lucky enough to have taped it with the full start and ending. If you email me with CFNY in the subject I can find a way to get you a copy for the small price of trying to identify a few CFNY tracks that I have no idea what they are
