Am I wrong, or wasn't he a CFNY dj? Maybe I am confusing him with another station. He is not in the personalities list. Did anyone see the "While You Were Out" where they redid one of their bedrooms into an Egyptian Spa Room? Then he proposes to his girlfriend?

Picholas was on Energy Radio in Burlington (107.9 FM) for many years, having bounced back and forth from KISS 98.5 in Buffalo a couple of times. He's also had a music video show on YTV in the past.
Don't recall him ever being on CFNY, though.

Yes, he was at CFNY around 89 - 91. He operated the board for the All Request Nooner for a while with Alan Cross hosting. He also did some promotions.

Get your facts straight. He was on CFNY before Energy 108.

So Nicholas Picholas and also Craig Beezak are missing from the personalities list. How are we supposed to vote for our favourite when they are not there? Craig was my favourite. He did a show right before Chris Sheppard's club 102, and I never missed it. I also went to a club where he DJ'd one night. It was great.

The club Craig Beesack was at that you went to was probably The Cotton Club in Markham. You can add a personality to the Favourites List. It was obvious Craig knew his alternative dance music, so did Nick.

Nicholas also went onto KISS-FM in Buffalo (rather similar format to our CISS-FM when it was around) I think as their morning guy. He had dual nationality with the U.S
That was many years ago though.

Beesak did his "warming up the house" show from either 6pm or 7pm (that was over 10 years ago, cant quite remember) until 9pm every Saturday night before Shep's show then would drive to THE COTTON CLUB on Markham Rd & spin there all night.
I should know, it seems like I spent all my 20's there, oh, and all my $20.00's too.

It was not the Cotton Club, but somewhere downtown. Church and Peter area? I remember because I insisted we stay for one more song and then go. It was all industrial and alternative dance. Then we missed the last bus and had to walk from the subway station.

It was the COTTON CLUB, he was always spinning on Fridays, and Saturdays (After his show on Saturday)
I should know, I spent half my time requesting tunes from him, knew him personally, the only other COTTON CLUB dj around was Rono Box who did Fridays for a while before Craig Beesak took over Fridays also.
Maybe you have Beesak mixed up with someone else?
The only club you could be thinking of would be CATCH 22, but that was years later (Im now 37)and he did not stay there long.

I believe Craig was on air from 7 to 8. Club 102 with Shep started at 8.

Nah, I used to go to Catch 22 quite a bit. It is possible that Craig was filling in for someone at another club. I remember going there specifically because he announced he was going to be there. I can honestly say I have never been to Markham though. I wish I had taped his shows, they were the best. I think this is where I made my two mixed tapes of industrial songs from.

Nicholas Picholas has always been great no matter where he was. Thanks for entertaining me, I was just reading over all your comments back and forth. If anyone is still reading this in 2005, I can clear all this up for you.... but what would I get out of it. -Amanda Lee Palmer

Nicholas and Alan used to do club nights together at the NRG in Burlington and The Fever in Hamilton right up until sometime around 1998.
