Rumour has it that 107.7 THE END Seattle will be webcasting beginning in March. Then you can hear why I rave. Heard New New order yet? How about The Postal Service? I have!!!

How about a month of local music? (including indies)

I sent The End an email to ask them about listening to them over the internet. I got a reply from John McIntyre ([email protected])saying "Try back in March."

There ya go! Try in March. The overnight is freeform, so you hear a lot of new, punk, b-sides & surprises. The morning show is very dry and has local bands play live on fridays. You'll love it! email me & let me know what you think!!!

I've been listening to a fairly decent "retro" station out of San Diego called DayGlo Radio.

Its a fairly eclectic mix.

Their site is http://daygloradio.com/

alternative portland is now streaming: http://947.fm/
read their alternative mantra at the website. Sister station to the end, but distinctively different. The chill show 3-4am (Toronto time) is great. Great radio is spreading... south.

WEVL Memphis is trying to get back into webcasting. In the meantime, terrestrial broadcasting of Sprit-era music has been on WEVL's The Modern World radio show for close to five years. Perhaps I'm a little nostalgic for the old music.

I felt obligated to let everyone who misses CFNY in southern Ontario and western New York about a great Internet site, Auralgasms Radio at:

http://www.auralgasms.com/Radio/playing.aspx

They are a very-professional, commercial-free broadcast of the best in Alternative music. I've heard SO many unique songs from the old CFNY playlist and great new modern-day counterparts. For instance, I just heard alternative flashbacks from Leonard Cohen ("Everybody Knows"), Midge Ure ("Dear God"), and even the Bollock Brothers ("Harley David"). Since CFNY changed their format, I had not heard a New Order, Depeche Mode, Kate Bush, etc. song played until I found the Auralgasms Radio website. Thank goodness for the Internet.

One of the cooler things about Auralgasms Radio is the request feature. You can browse the entire catalog of songs, find what you want to hear and click Request. Your song will automatically queue up and probably play within 15 minutes.

There is also a page where you can view the Recently Added songs.

There are also specialty shows for Dreampop (Aural Bliss), Singer Songwriters (Aural Cafe) and Flashbacks (Retrogasms)
