Alternaline, sound familiar from 93ish or so? It was a telephone messaging entertainment thing where some cfny tunes were played and discussed. Dani Elwell, Don Burns and Lee Carter I recall were the main hosts. I think CJ O'Connor from EYE also hosted a part of it too. That was a clever idea, any idea why it was discontinued? Anything like that exist, either phone or web today? A

"Don't be Cheap, Buy some Jazz". I swear it's a DJ's standard signoff used I think on Sat (6:55-7:00pm) around '85/'86 after playing an hour's jazz music.
It may even have been on a different radio station before I would commence listening to 'ny.

Yes! I Remember Alterna-line. It was very good. It was an avenue for checking out "new music" that couldn't be heard on the FM dial at the time. Too bad it was only over a phone speaker. It went to a 900-charge number then disappeared after that.
Remember Don Berns and DJ Ian hosting a show called "The Spirited Radio Hour" on Energy 108 around the same time?

Yeah I think I remember that too, the radio hour that is... it was like 93-94ish perhaps?? Yeah thats right it did turn into some 900#. Its too bad they dont have anything like that anymore :o( Speaking of Energy, thats kaput now too. They had like 3 energy stations in the GTA, sorta GTA anyway. One in Barrie, one in Oshawa and the one in Burlington. I think the only energy that is around is the one in Barrie because the one in Oshawa is now back to magic 949 or whatever its called. Oh man, why am I talking about this?? No one here cares about what happened to energy lol, I'm rambling as usual...blame it on pregnancy hormones lol, okay I'll shut up now, take care. A
