Catch Phrase?

I was a longtime listener from the early years of the late 70's to the 90's and one of the catch phrases as we all know was "The Spirit of Radio"
Sometime around the mid 80's they started to use a phrase:
"One of the two great radio stations of the world"
I think that is the time CFNY went satellite as well? I remember hearing phone requests on Saturday nights show from Los Angeles and Winnipeg and Montreal... It was so far ahead of the curve with all the other stations...
What is the other great radio station they are referring to?
Would it be radio Luxemburg?
These were innovative times and things were changing very fast. Satellites were catching on as I know I used to dabble in communications with them as a ham radio operator and of course the internet was just coming of age slowly. Those were different times..........................
What did that catch phrase mean? You would hear it fifteen times a day like station identification.
