Greetings!
Nobody seems to remember a wicked show on Sunday nights on the Spirit called \"The Eclectic Spirit\"...
This show would pretty much take the listener to different plane...I can't remember any of the topics, but being able to listen to any of these shows would take me back to that time...does anyone out here know if these are available? I communicate with the Mars bar every once in a while, just never got around to asking him about it...
Any clues?
Thanx!
Randy

I definitely remember it.
For a while on XM Radio's Fred 44, there was a show on Sunday mornings that was VERY similar, and was probably the best programmed show on all of XM Radio. I talked to the programmer, Bill Kates, who normally did production for the 60's, comedy, and other channels there, and he said the Sunday Fred show was a \"hobby\" and he just did it because he loved it.
We need more people like that in radio, be it terrestrial or satellite.

I asked Brad McNally about the \"Eclectic Spirit\" shows a while ago and if any recordings remained or even if the playlists were kept.
Unfortunately, he didn't think that any remained outside of air-checks made by the listeners.
I think that I have one or two on tape somewhere but that's about it. I wish I had more of them.

I've got 7 of them online here, go to Sounds and do a search for \"Eclectic\" under the Airchecks category.

If you want to share them, let me know and I'll put them online here.

I sure do remember 'The Eclectic Spirit'......This show was so typical of the cerebral type of programming that CFNY offered late at night. One segment of TES that I particularly remember was the one discussing Circadian rythyms in the human body. Fascinating stuff. The music that set the mood in each show was very cool as well.

Sorry, this reply somehow started it's own thread:
Neill -
I think that one was titled \"The Science of Chronobiology\", and it might be the one that I've got somewhere here in the archives on tape and I'll have a look for it.
If interested in a copy, PM me for details !

That's one that I just uploaded (only I titled it The Human Orchestra because I didn't know the real title). It should probably be available soon.

I use to have more copies (I think at one time The Eclectic Spirit was a religon with me) now I can only find two tapes.I can't wait to download more of what other people can offer.I really thought it was interesting to go back and pick-out those subliminal words and sounds that were given during the shows.
-great happy days!!!
