Anyone remember Tim Keele? He was a dj at CFNY in the early days. His name is conspicuous by its absence on this site. I seem to remember that he was fired on-air by Dave Marsden because he was grumbling about favoritism at the station. I believe the story was that he was passed up for a promotion that ended up going to Don Berns. Am I dreaming this?

I recall there was some issue in the early 80's, but I remember it being about a situation with James "Baby" Scott. Who, IIRC is David's step brother. Somebody played Sly and The Family Stone's "Family Affair" and made it a 'special' dedication. (In retrospect, he should have played "If You Want Me To Stay" ;) )

Who's Tim? And is it just me but I was listening to Dani Elwell's resignation, and I forgot how flakey she used to sound. Reading her resume on air? Cheezy!!!!!!!!!

Tim Keele was a dj on cfny back in the early 80's (he may have started earlier, but I only moved into the broadcast area in 1981). Then one day in 1982, I believe, he wasn't on air anymore.
I can't remember if he had a specific shift or if he was the swing guy on the weekends. But, like the other personalites back in those days, he was always great to listen to, and he seemed to have a great interest in the music that he played.
A search of the internet shows that he is still associated with radio somehow as he was a judge at the New York festival of Radio and Programming this year and he has also done a narrative for Nat'l Geographic on an episode called Catastrophe at Sea.
As for the rest of the story, he will have to fill in the blanks.
