Okay Smokalotapot, I'm gonna try one last time.
If this message doesn't get posted I'll know I've been cut off from this site. Why I don't know, but this is the third time I've tried to help.
This may be the wrong answer, but it's what pops into mind. CFNY played several tunes from a solo Phil Lynott album released around that time. It may be on there or "Jack the Ripper" from the "Chinatown" LP by "Thin Lizzy". The years really have clouded my memory.

I'm pretty sure this song was by Brian Plummer, whose song "Money Talks" was also played by CFNY.

But there WAS a "Jacky Boy" song played on CFNY in the very early '80s, and it was by Brian Plummer. Here are some quotes from the "Cosmic Debris Music Magazine" web site:

One song off the album, 'Jacky Boy' was initially banned in England, as it was at first considered to glorify Jack The Ripper. However, the review board's hasty decision was found to be rather "overkill"... and the ensuing publicity actually helped distribution.

Over the ensuing years, Brian went on to make five more albums with Duke St. / WEA: 'I'm As Guilty As You' (1982), 'No Questions' (1983 re-release); 'Without A Mark' (1984); 'Brian Plummer & The Suspects' (1986); and 'Brian Plummer' "Plums" (1998): a compilation CD which also includes 8 brand new songs.
In 1984, Roger Daltry recorded "Money Talks", also off 'No Questions', but the track never did make it onto disk. And Brian never quite got that big break into the American market, despite his popularity in Canada and overseas, including Sweden, Germany and South Africa.

Sorry Smoke, i don't have "Jacky Boy" on any of my tapes. Not sure if the song is on Plummer's "No Questions" LP, maybe that's something you'd want to try investigating. Finding the LP is another matter entirely but best of luck!

(taking deep breath)... er, Smoke, what you were supposed to do is to read the thread and note the e-mail addresses of those posters who either have uploaded the No Questions album (which includes "Jacky Boy") to MP3 or have some connection to Plummer himself. I gave you the shovel and the map, now you've got to dig.
