This one's from the early 80's.....Instrumental with a long of sax and brass. I thought the band was "Soft Machine" or something like that but I can't track down the specific tune that was regularly played on CFNY. The above band seems to have MANY albums out. Anyone?

Back in 1981 (maybe '82) Soft Machine released an album called "Land Of Cockayne" which saw a fair amount of air play.
Amazon.com shows the song titles and has some playable samples for all trax, but I don't believe it's still available as new.
I bought the vinyl of this back then (still have it) and I like it a lot. It's different from a lot of the Soft Machine material that preceded it, but taken on it's own, it's still a great album.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Audiofool! That IS the album and the song that got all the "Spirit play" is "Over N Above". Now only if I can get this one on MP3. :-( Thanks for your help!
