I am so excited to have found this site after searching for so long! I have a tape from circa 81-83 of a certain LA radio station, and there's this song on it (two times actually, one is a remix). The refrain goes something like:
"take me to your (knee?) save me understand me give me everything I need"
It has a fast beat compared to most stuff out then, and is rather dark sounding for a new wave song. It's very electronic, almost like pre-techno/goth/industrial-dance. One instrument sounds sort of like a siren. The singer is female, and she sings in sort of a monotonous, robot-like, whiny style!
Another part goes something like: "So hard to keep...intact I'm not content I can't hold back Where can this leave me?"
I have more snippets of lyrics written down but am hoping this will be enough!
thanks Kirsten

In my excitement, I mistyped this. It's:
"take me to your (knee?) save me understand me give me everything I see"

I am pretty sure this is by the band. "Slow Children" and the song is called "Spring In Fialta".
I will see if I have it,and get back to you.
