This is "Love Hit Me" by The Pinups. They were four Playboy Bunny-looking chicks from Los Angeles (Lisa London, Glynnis Talken, Mary Senecal, and a broad who went by one name -- Tegan). It was a producer-assembled group -- assembled in Germany by Peter Hauke, I believe -- and I don't think the girls were hired to do anything but sing and, you know, look slutty. Tony Carey wrote this track, along with most of the album.
They only released the one s/t album (Columbia FC 37909) in April, 1982 before getting pinned. Lisa London and Glynnis Talken are still kickin' around Hollywood -- London as an actress; Talken as a romance novelist and computer game voiceover artist. I have no clue what became of the other two.
P.S. I think the line in the chorus is "Out of the blue like a lightning strike," but I'd have to listen to it again.

Mary Senecal has totally lost her mind. She is currently staying in a homeless shelter in Wichita, KS. I literally saw her this morning & she handed me a note of crazy scribblings & told me she used to be in the pinups. I discovered this thread when researching to see if she was telling the truth. I promise you, it was her & it was sad!
