I think the first song is by The Extras , "I Never Told You, I Told You So" from their EP 'The Watcher'. It also features Fever Fire which got a fair amount of airplay back in the day.
Can't help with the 2nd one, sorry.

Thanks for the tip, I think The Extras is the right group. I haven't been able to find "I Never Told You, I Told You So" but did find another song I'd been looking for by The Extras - I can't stand still. I"ll keep looking.
