Found a mix tape I made from the radio, circa '84. This song is now stuck in my head. Lyrics go:
"... Is this the way to the real world? Show me the way to the real world. Show me show me, show me show me, show me the way..."

If you take out the real world stuff, it sounds like Everything's Gone Green by New Order.
"Is this the way that you wanted to pay Won't you show me, please show me the way Is this the way that you wanted to pay Won't you show me, please show me the way"

Nope, that's not it.
Middle verse:
"Is this the world of elation, Where we can all live as one. Is this the great new foundation, Or is this a world built for one.
Show me..."
At the end of the song before I cut it off (silly me), the announcer says "That's called White"
Been trying various combinations through google, coming up blank. Trying to figure out song title and group.

The song is called Real World by White China.
I have somehow recorded a video that is either from Top of the Pops or Grey Whistle Test in the 80's. Also managed to get a copy of the 12" extended version back in those days. I believe it is a one hit wonder band.
