I taped this song off of WDRE in 1988/1989. I assumed back then it was a song by "The Cure" that I didn't know. I have just about all of there songs and I don't think it's them. This group is heavily influenced by "The Cure". The song sounds like a cross between "In Between Days" and "Just Like Heaven". I'm guessing it came out after 1987. Any help would be appreciated.

This is "The Afterworld" by The Essence. It is from their 1988 album Ecstasy.
