Wow... that's so familiar... something tells me it's either a band called Mantecca (dance based "world-beat" type band)... or even "The Payolas". Not sure why, but I do recall hearing this song a lot on the radio here in Toronto in the late 80's ?

Sorry, I had a typo on the band name... it's actually "Manteca" with one "c"... Toronto based band... not much out there on them I'm afraid. (Not to be confused with a UK based band). I think that's the group responsible for this song.

Roman, Thank you so much for that lead. I actually thought this song was least likely to be identified out of the group, but with your information I was able to find it on i-tunes. The song name is "Oseo" from the album "Fire Me Up"

Hey, I saw them play with Iron and Wine in MPLS this past fall and they were great. They have a darn good e.p. that they put out for the tour thats very good. I belive you can find some demo MP3's on their wtseibe (you could for a while at least, haven't checked in a number of months)
