I haven't heard this song in years and all I can remember about the lyrics are in the refrain which I think go "mirage mirage mirage". Another former 80's 'NY listener also seemed to recall about the same amount of the song, sorry it's not much to go on I'm afraid.

If so...Song was Collage by Vital Signs - a Toronto band I believe. I have it on CD and iPod.

Yes, they were a Toronto band, and they were Vital Sines, not Vital Signs.
