The song I'm looking for was sometime around the summer of 81 or 82.The opening of the song started. radio radio radio then the main line for the song was your on my ray ya ya ya yadio
From Dave Myrvold, 2/6/2009 3:35:30 PM:
Probably Wall Of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio", if not then perhaps The Member's "Radio", both are from 1982.
From Scott, 2/6/2009 4:38:21 PM:
I'm going to lean towards the Members track.
From Teen of the 80s, 2/6/2009 7:10:24 PM:
Not either but thanks. You had me pumped when the Members showed up on youtube. But it wasn't it.Now Mexican Radio plays often on my mp3 what a cool tune.Have loved it for decades.
From DJ Wave, 2/6/2009 7:22:40 PM:
The Selector - "On My Radio" although released in 1979 as a single, the lp in 1980...the song reappeared during the 80s ska scene with The Specials and The English Beat hit the radio here in the US in 81/82
You can hear all of the songs mentioned at Flashback Alternatives.
From Teen of the 80s, 2/6/2009 10:13:43 PM:
Nope not it, but man I love the introduction to THE SELECTOR they are so cool.I'm gonna have that one in my head for a long time.Thanks.I wish I had a clip or some way of singing the chorus.
From DJ Wave, 2/7/2009 11:56:53 AM:
Perhaps a bit more information may help...such as female or male singer, slow or faster song, more lyrics, rock or new wave.
From audiofool, 2/7/2009 11:18:37 PM:
The only other one that comes to mind is "Radio" by Randall Cousins and Freqency (from Hamilton, I believe). The single was on Roto Records and Earl Jive had a voice over on the B-side version of it along with a quip from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I found this link for the song: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=874882&q=hi&newref=1
from this page: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=129848
hope this helps.
From Teen of the 80s, 2/8/2009 4:34:28 PM:
Not it either. The singer was male and the song was faster new wave type tune.Sorry for the life of me I can't remember any other lyrics. It is the only song out of the 80s that I liked and don't know who it was.I tried CONDUCTOR voice on the radio. but not it either. The only thing I do remember was CHAB in Saskatchewan used the opening lyrics of "radio radio radio"to add their call letters in just as the song started.I have emailed CHAB a couple times to see if anyone there remembers but lets face it it's creeping up on 30 years since the tune was played there. What are the chances there are any original staff there.I do appreciate everybodys help here. Thanks
From Mike Cool, 2/23/2009 11:53:09 PM:
Just throwing it out there but it could be Radio Radio by Elvis Costello.
From Fish, 2/24/2009 1:28:45 PM:
It is a bit later than 81, 82 but how about Radio GaGa by Queen?
From Teen of the 80s, 3/2/2009 10:37:35 PM:
I checked the Elvis Cosetllo tune. Not it but man I love his music. Also not the Queen tune.Have loved Radio Ga Ga since it came out. Thanks for the help.
From Matt, 3/20/2009 6:49:28 PM:

From Teen of the 80s, 3/24/2009 8:46:05 PM:

From Teen of the 80s, 4/9/2009 4:21:03 PM:
Matt!!!!!!!!You did it.It has been 28 years since I last heard this song and it sure made me smile. Not a real strong song but it was the only song left from my teen years that I never knew who it was.Zero-One out of Toronto like you said. Thank you everyone else for the help.I did find a couple new tunes that are now on my play list.
From Invisible man, 3/28/2011 9:26:56 AM:
Hey Matt or Teen from the 80's. I have been looking for a copy of the album Zero One from Frank Zerone and Gordy Paton for some time now. With the song You're On My Radio and Invisible Man on it. Do you have it? Where can I get one?
From Muzoid, 4/9/2011 11:34:42 PM:
Yup...that's Zero One, "You're On My Radio"
Released on Anthem Records.
Gordy's sister was our babysitter, and Gordy annoyed everyone on our street with his drumming....except me :)
From Sika, 9/13/2012 2:45:50 PM:
I am also looking for a 'radio' song. I heard it last in late 80s. Dont know the singer or the title. Just remember that it had some words like 'On my radio .... summer's song whistles on and on.."
From George Kay, 9/30/2014 7:26:19 PM:
A: the year was 1980, and the band who put out that tune was ZERO-ONE, I believe on the Columbia label. The leader-songwriter-ryhtm guitarist was a fellow by the name of Frank ZeroneI know, I did their word mark cheers, hope this helps
From Rick n Cath, 10/22/2022 11:20:52 AM:
We have the album ... and have song on a playlist. Saw him last night in Toronto producing The Beatles Ones.
