I forgot to mention,This is the Synthpop song Sebastian and Greg posted a while ago.

Try that for translating. Basically no one knows. The German page is going no where fighting if it's "Hold you" or "Told you". Then they talk about if it is Boytronic. It sounds nothing like any of the Boytronic tunes I have and the voice is different, even with the different changes they made in the group. The one above is thinking it is "The Twins", which has I agree has the same sound of, but to me the voice does not match, but then I only have 1 "The Twins" cd and one 12 incher to base my knowledge on about that. Then it appears that he says that you'll probably do better asking the Italio Disco groups on this one. ^^ If that is not what he is saying, then I would say it is where you should try. Synthpop and Italio Disco tends to attract different people and there is a slight difference between the two. Italio Disco is usually the more perky dance music like this tune. I would not mind knowing where this is from myself. It's been bothering m

(continued) It's been bothering me as much as that Eskimos & Egypt tune they solved.

From Paul Miceli, 2/28/2003 4:10:48 AM:

Hi Rusty,

Thanks so much for the info.

I know for sure it's not Boytronic,I have all the cds and cd singles by them.

I will go check my twins cds,but I dont think its them.I checked my 2 Axodry cd singles and it's not on any of them.

I hope someone out there knows this song.

Regarding the Eskimos & Egypt song,We have to thank Ecki for that one,He Was so helpful that night,He's a cool dude.

The best thing we could do is post this song all over the place and hope someone can id this song.

Thanks again,

Paul

From Brian, 3/1/2003 8:46:26 AM:

here it is in my worst (and best) german:

That one is really a Queen! She has (my) radar going off!

My first thought was, yeah, it must be the Twins from Berlin. However, I cant say for sure. Anyways, I would place it sometime in the Italo Disco period, I am certain it is from that category!

Kraftwork, the real father of Techo- always good as usual!

From brian, 3/1/2003 2:34:19 PM:

actully, the first line is more like 'it got the wheels turning' not radar. anyways...

From Cory, 3/4/2003 3:00:21 PM:

Hey Paul,

Any more luck with this track??

From Paul Miceli, 3/4/2003 3:15:39 PM:

Hi Cory,

This is a tough one.

I was thinking about posting it on some Euro/italo sites, like the guy in germany mentioned.

I will let you know if I find anything.

Paul

From Dave Myrvold, 3/5/2003 10:10:40 AM:

Iain Macpherson (sorry Iain if I'm misspelling or have your last name wrong) better known as DJ Iain may know this. Does anyone keep in touch with him and can direct him to this site and clip. He would be someone who would have a good shot at figuring this out.

From Sebastian, 3/12/2003 7:23:42 PM:

Oops. Got rid of the old email account, hence
didn't get an update on the original thread.

I was about to do a search for all Twins and
Boytronics lyrics but something tells me I should
take Paul's word for it if he says it's not them. :)

In the meanwhile, I had given this song to some
online DJ who specialized in rare 80s tune and
he didn't know it either (Crap from the past was
the show, I think). The guy seemed pretty knowledgeable
but he told me he passed it around and came up with
zilch as well.

I still want to know what the "whispers and screams"
thing is as well. *sigh* Sorry for not being able to
be more helpful. I tried both songs on various usenet
new wave and 80s groups when I first heard each of them and
no one responded.

Oh, by the way, Paul, a friend of Greg's originally
posted that clip on an .mp3 discussion group on usenet.
Greg and I simply "met" here by pure coincidence, so
he'd have to say where he got it from. Sounds to me
like a radio r

From Cory, 3/14/2003 4:08:55 PM:

Hey Sebastian!

We already solved the "Screams and Whispers" track. The artist was "Eskimos in Egypt". The tracks are on now floating around "SoulSeek" if you have it.

Cheers,

Cory

From Wynn, 4/7/2003 8:26:50 PM:

Hi Paul, I listened to all of your songs, and I cannot help you on any of them. Where can I get Fou Gorki "Big House? I'll be in Toronto this Thurs. and Fri coincidently. -Wynn

From Paul Miceli, 4/11/2003 11:08:56 PM:

Hi Wynn,

If you are looking for vinyl, Your best bet is Gemm.

The only place you can find their songs on cd is on Razormaid. They remixed 3 of their songs- Big house, painter, and save me.

Paul

From David, 4/25/2003 2:39:40 PM:

Hi Paul:

Just wondering if you have solved this one yet?

David

From Paul Miceli, 4/27/2003 8:52:29 PM:

Hi David,

No luck with this one.

I posted it at a few sites, but no one could solve it.

Paul

From David, 5/9/2003 6:05:35 PM:

Hi Paul:

The singer uses the word Dreamlight(an odd word worthy of a song title). On a hunch, typed in Dreamlight on an Italo Disco page and came up with Fabrizio Z. Can't find an mp3 of it anywhere. Maybe its worth following up.

david

From Paul Miceli, 5/12/2003 3:41:41 AM:

Hi David,

Just had another listen to it, and it does seem like he mentions dreamlight.

I just checked gemm, and fun records has the cd single, I will try to find out if it is - Dreamlight by Fabrizio Z.

I will also check some of my Italo/Eurobeat comps to see if Fabrizio Z is on any of them.

Thanks again,

Paul

From David, 5/12/2003 5:00:33 PM:

Hi Paul:

It's a longshot, but this popped right up when I typed Drreamlight in on the Italo Disco page (sorry, it was 3:00 am and I was half asleep, didn't get the address). I've since listened to and dispensed of 5 other songs titled Dreamlight (who thought there would be that many!!) which were mostly new age or pianoish type things. I saw it on GEMM also. There was also another Dreamlight ep by a group called Euphoria, (1991) but it has since vanished.

Good Luck,

David

From Marek, 5/18/2003 1:22:29 PM:

Hi

Does anybody have "Okay"(German band) album(s)?
i have two songs from Okay, songs are similiar.

From Paul Miceli, 5/20/2003 11:43:13 PM:

Hi David and Merek,

I will check my cds, I know I have a few cd singles by okay and have alot of comps with their stuff.

David, I think the band you mentioned -Euphoria, had a Depeche mode cover in the early 90's.
I remember a cd single on ebay by them.

Cheers,

Paul

From Cory, 5/24/2003 10:46:28 AM:

Has anybody confirmed that the song was/was not by "Fabrizio Z"?

Ciao!

From Paul Miceli, 5/28/2003 6:03:40 PM:

Sebastian,

The song has been solved, check Cory's new post from today. Cory has ended your search.

I have heard a song on the channel named "TEN SPORTS" in the add. movie of "EXTREME SPORT" but, I can only hear the words "Naaa, nanana naaaa".
Can u tell me about this song?

From Sebastian, 9/30/2003 4:05:15 PM:

Wooow! Thank you so very much, Paul and Cory, as well as everyone who tried. I hope Greg, the person who was originally searching for this, hasn't long since given up on the search. Thanks again!

Now, if I may ask a silly question, does anyone have any idea who these guys are? Talk about obscure... I can find nothing on them.

Thanks again, guys!!

From Kevin Gates, 1/6/2004 8:41:11 AM:

For Anyone who is interested in Eskimos & Egypt, their keyboard player Paul Compton has a website over at:

http://www.citycol.com/lrc/amc/students/webauthoring/unit1/john_cundall/index.htm

There's a very in depth biography on the band from the early goth singles up to their later techno rave albums.
