First heard in 1980 or 1981; minor key; jarring, almost mournful, atmospheric guitar sound combined with driving 4x4 beat; vocalist sounds a little like Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke. I have a fragment on an old cassette tape but would like to identify the artist and title.
The chorus goes something like this:
"I sink [pause] my teeth [pause] into Acceleration Acceleration"
(The word could also be "Exhilaration" -- can't make out enough other words to guess based on context.)
Other isolated words and phrases I can make out:
"And something struck [pause for guitar lick] a responsive chord"
[Near the end] "And the days grow longer...."
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!

If you can, post the bit you have on cassette here. It will make it easier to ID the song.

The song is Acceleration by The Urban Verbs, a Washington DC-area band. You can find it on a compilation entitled "Totally Wired."
