I'm looking for the title and artist of a song that had lyrics along the following, "Way on down in Alphabet Town, there's a deal....." I had it off Napster once, but lost the file. Thanks to anyone who solves the mystery!

Thanks Paul, I'm surprised it appears on a CD, I thought it was too old for that.
From Scott MacLean, 5/2/2003 9:02:51 AM:
It's an old CD. :)

As far as I know, A Canadian Alternative is the only place this song appears on CD. Good luck finding it, I had a copy many years ago and sat on it! Took me years to find another copy. Try the address listed here, I found a new copy here about 3 months ago. They may stil have a few.
Good Luck,

BTW, There are about 5 other songs on that CD which are great and unavailable anywhere, CD or vinyl.

Thanks David, I'll try that source.

I agree, the CD is amazing! To the best of my knowledge it's the only CD that has ever featured a track by "Benjamin Russell". I found his LP many years back and finding ANY of his music on CD amazed me!!!
From Cory, 5/8/2003 6:35:00 PM:
Does anybody know anything about Benjamin Russell? I've had no luck finding info on him, or about any of his releases in the 80's.
If you want, I can relay the info on Benjamin Russell contained in the Canadaian Alternative CD. (Short Bio really)
Leave a msg. here and we'll arrange something.
David

I was directed to the Pete and Geets site (www.romoland.ca) for a different song and noticed that one of the compilation CD's for sale on that site has Alphabet Town. Ed

Hi David!
No, thank you...I have the info from the Canadian Alternative CD...I was hoping there was a fan site, or more info about his releases online. I found that he released a Children's album in the early 80's as well, but no other New Wave stuff.
