Song got a lot of nighttime play on Earl's and the Allnight Andre's shows. This tune had the sound of falling rain in the background, the singers voice had a studio effect on it like it was run through a leslie and the chorus was something about walking in the rain, southern nights...I always thought it was Allen Toussaint but nothing even remotely near comes up. It is not his "Southern Nights".

You have created a hybrid in your mind, a combo of Walkin' In The Rain by Flash & The Pan and Allen Toussaint's Southern Nights. Both were played about the same time. It happens, it just takes time...
