i can't find this name of this really obvious song...it's definitely 80s and the beginning sounds like a cross between the beginning of "baba o'riley" and the background music of "we built this city on rock & roll"...it's a pretty popular song but could you tell me the name anyway?

I think its Yaz -- Only You.
Just a hunch.
From jack, 6/20/2003 5:02:14 PM:
no...that's not it...the song i'm talking about has a longer opening and sounds more like "we built this city" than baba o'riley...
From audiofool, 6/20/2003 6:26:53 PM:
Is it "Adventures In Modern Recording" by The Buggles ?
From jack, 6/20/2003 10:07:16 PM:
sorry...don't think that's it either, as i can't even find a place to listen to a clip of it...just to give you a little more help the beginning of the song i'm looking for sounds a bit (not a lot), but a bit like the opening of "born in the usa"

Jack - do any snippets of lyrics come to mind ?
From jack, 6/21/2003 9:38:47 AM:
no...sorry...i just remember the song vividly because the background music kind of overshadowed the lyrics (if that makes any sense)...if you can't find the name of the song don't lose sleep over it because i know there really is not that much information to go with

Here's a wild stab at it... "Time Stands Still" by Rush (please, no rude e-mails from offended Rush fans).
From jack, 6/25/2003 6:04:05 PM:

thanks again
