Hi Guys, I found this at the 80's exchange site. I am pretty sure this midi is a cover of an old song, but cant remember what it is.

Hi...
I could really use some help identifying this midi. It's been bugging me for years!
http://www.neo-fantasy.com/ROQ.MID
I am not sure if this is a song from the 80's or not, but I have searched everywhere and can't figure out what this midi is from. The only clue I have is I found it in a folder "films"...so it may be from a film.
It is a long song ( around 8 minutes )... and it starts off very slow and peaceful. Then.... it kicks into some faster guitar at about 4:25... than it slows down again towards the end. Not sure if it has lyrics or not since I found it from midi.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you.

Wild guess coming . . .
I don't recall hearing this song before, and the MIDI sound makes it difficult to recognize an artist's signature sound, but the artist who pops into my mind is Mike Oldfield. It's not from his Tubular Bells (The Exorcist) release, and I doubt it's from The Killing Fields soundtrack, but it does have his style (one of many) of a long slow introduction followed by a surprising twist (the guitars). I can imagine him playing twenty instruments during this song, too.
Just a thought. It is a nice song, nevertheless.

Hi James,
I think it could be Mike Oldfield.
Can anyone confirm if it is by him.
Paul

It's a song called "Empty Hall" by the band "ROQ". The song was written by Rob Watkins, the bass player and vocalist in the band. The other member of the band was Tom Harpell, the guitar player...

Hi Jeff,
The old midi link seems to dead. Here is a new link.

It appears i was wrong. I was contacted by Rob (the bass player) whom told me that it was not the song they wrote. Seems that this rumor aswell was a dud.
If anyone has any other info about this song/tune, PLEASE POST IT!!

Awesome, thanks. I've been looking for a source for this since 1996.
