I don't know the name or who sings it but it goes: "because the night belongs to lovers, because the night belongs to us" and so on. i'm guessing late 80's or early 90's, hope you can help me out! thanx

You might be thinking of the 10,000 Maniacs version of the Patti Smith song, recorded for their MTV Unplugged LP in 1993.
