I am looking for the group that does a song that I think is called Runaway. It's from around 1982-1984, could be new-wave, with a male and female singing in it and some of the lyrics are:
(Chorus) You're just a runaway, running away You're just a runaway, running away
(Male singing) When I met you, you were just 16 All alone, you were on the streets Your father was a drunk, your family was poor I promised you that I would even the score I took you in, I gave you a home I gave you confidence, I gave you hope And now, you wanna leave me, is that a threat? Tell me, is this the thanks I get?
You think you're running away (so run away) I'm gonna make you say you're
(Chorus) You're just a runaway, running away You're just a runaway, running away
(Female singing) I want to thank you for all that you've done We had memories, we had such fun, but I never promised you anything Not even back when I was 16 The way I feel is plain to see You'll always be so special

Hey, Has this one been solved yet? It's by One-Two-Three - "Runaway" from Baby records (1983).

Has anyone located this song on Kazaa or any other place. I'd like to down it. Let me know. [email protected]
I thought it was a song Ricky Dean and Dante sang on the Dianah Shore show around the eighties. Richard Dean Anderson of McGyver fame sang it with Dante his band member.
