Jamie - Thanks for the tip.
I wasn't aware of this shop. It'll be the first stop on my next T.O. vinyl trek the next time I'm in town.

Hey Jamie - I bought a copy of Toronto Calling in my hometown last weekend at our local used vinyl emporium.... that and lots of other cool stuff too.
Curiously, it's a different version from the one I have on tape... I think the version I've had up til now is their demo version that got some play back in '81, from a tape I have of the last McNally Masquerade in Oct 1981.

not sure if anyone posted the answer to the flat tire song, but I do believe the name of the band was "the guvernment", or "the government" ( am not sure of the correct spelling ). I think they were a toronto area band, but don't know much about them at all other then that song which I heard many times on cfny.
If anyone knows where I can pick it up, please email me. I live in the toronto area.
Thanks

Just saw Rupert's posting. When I was a little girl in the 1950s, we sang a risque song,
"In the southern part of France,
Where the ladies wear no pants,
And the dance they do
Is enough to kill a Jew,
And the Jew they kill
Is enough to take a pill,
And the pill they take
Is enough to fry a snake,
And the snake they fry
Is enough to tell a lie,
And the lie they tell
Is enough to go to hell!"
I have no idea where it came from but we knew if was bad bad bad.

I would appreciate if anyone can tell me who the singer is for the song "one night lover" as alluded by another chatter "Anonymous" in late Dec' 2003. It is definitely not charles or JTL or La Paris. Would appreciate any thoughts on it. Many thanks

I *HAD* a fantastic compilation CD with "Rubber Glove Seduction" (by PTP) on it but...someone STOLE IT!!! Ugh, grrrrrrr! It also had I think it was called "July" on it but I forget who sang that one. It went: "God I hate July, I'll scream it to the sky, for what it's worth on the face of this earth I refuse to be denied" or something like that. Anyone remember who did that? Thanx.
