I always listened to the Nick Charles show who played songs that were linked by a common word or theme subject & asked the listeners to call in with the "WORD"....Ussually gave out concert tickets etc for the correct answers. Not many songs of todays music that can stack up to the variety of 80s tracks in near the equall amounts CFNY played & had access to back then.Guess its all been done!
We were certainly very lucky to have been alive in those times to enjoy the music so many bands had to offer.Even though many were the 1 hit wonders we were there!Today some Detroit station had an award concert for Paul McCartney at the white house & Man even the Beatles back then had many albums the whole world seemed to play them in their entirty & knew the words to every song they did!
I doubt that feat will ever be repaeted again ever!Geez just think of the bucks they would have by todays dollar figures if they had strated out now!
Not many Beatles songs were played on CFNY but main stream was not the dream.
