I think its time to get a music festival in Toronto featuring our favourite bands from the 80's. I'm thinking of smaller bands that are still playing or that may reunite just for this festival: 54-40, Breeding Ground, English Beat, Vital Signs, Echo, Psychedellic Furs, Heaven 17 etc.
Maybe a CFNY personality can get this going or someone who has the contacts in the business.
If you agree, please get the word out.

That sounds like a plan!
Grand Idea.Geets can be contacted at CHUM fm.....David Marsden at 94,9 the rock...I'm sure they could get something started if they did not or could not attend...
we've had one...
and it was called the spirit reunion....
It will be 5 years since the reunion next year won't it? That means it is already time to start the plans for the next one!
Would be nice to have something that is more like an annual affair and more based on a live show/assembling bands. The best would be a mix of old and new bands - favourites from the past as well as some recent bands that deserve some exposure.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the reunion wasn't a resounding financial success, so part of the plan would have to be how to make it a financial success - much easier to get people interested in doing it on a regular basis if that end clicks into place!
Actually, there is a festival going on in Hamilton this weekend that features the English Beat, the Spoons and many other bands - it seems like it's probably worth checking out - can't remember many other details on that event as I couldn't go myself, unfortunately.
Later,
Ralph
