This may be stupid question that has been asked here a million times before and I am sorry if it is I just stumbled upon this happy place tonight at 4:00am.
Does anyone know where to find the megamixes Shep used to play Saturday night. I know the recoding will be rough but wow, to hear them again would be too much.
Great site, great memories are flooding back.

Disco Mix Club, also known as DMC out of the U.K. is the megamix/remix service for dj's that Chris Sheppard drew upon for his megamixes. Check the web, all of these were available on vinyl with many as well ending up on CD.

"Drew upon"?! He bought them. That man couldn't mix a margarita.

Drew upon, used, sent to him or bought and then played. He made it sound like it was his own creations. I guess he thought nobody would ever know otherwise.

They're easy to find. Go to any file sharing site and type in 'dmc mix'. I've found quite a few although I'd like to find the Talking Heads - Once In a Lifetime mega-mix. This one not too easy to find!

I believe the New Order one - a true classic if there ever was one - was called "Substance Abuse" (and was also a DMC mix)

Actually, "Substance Abuse" was a bootleg CD put out containing various remixes of "Substance" tracks, from various remix services. It was not authorized by the remix services, which is (a) why it was bootleg, and (b) why it's not that easy to find.

I just read your message on the CFNY website that you posted back in April and thought I would let you know that I have one mega mix MP3, it's only 4 mins long though.
It contains, James Bond, Mission Impossible, Clint Eastwood "make my day" etc...
I can upload it to Kazaa if you are interested or if you have an FTP server I can upload it that way too.

P.S. if anyone is reading, I am also looking for more from the late 80s.

I should figure a way to convert my old cassettes... I have about 20 or more 90min (both sides) of these shows, namely the shep ones, and some headly jones, which was on after shep.
Also, my cousin has maybe close to 25 chrome BASF VHS tapes full of hours and hours of night time 11pm - 7am airplay, as well as the yearly countdowns, by Don Burns, even after he left and returned only for the countdowns.

I'd be happy to help you out if you wanted. I've done this quite a few times with live audio bootlegs I used to collect on cassettes. It's time consuming, especially if there's any post-capture filtering to do to clean them up, but it could definitely be worth it for items like these. I could handle both the audio cassettes and the VHS stuff. Contact me if interested. I'd do this free of charge, just to help everyone get there hands on more vintage stuff like this.
