I had a some what provocative response to your posting--though I neither swore at you, nor ascribed terrible things to you.

I tried the "Post Message" button, but it appears not to have made it to the bulletin.

I then tried again using the moniker "Nice Guy" and it seems to have worked well.

Either I have made a mistake the first time or I am being censored.

As I foolishly didn't make a copy, I'll have to type the whole thing again and I'm not that great a typist.

So I'll quit now and try again some later time.
If it works fine--particularly if I get this post on; otherwise I'll likely give up on this site.

Pity, it looked so promising.

Seems that I was in error in my posting and that I was not, repeat not, censored.

Okay, I'll try this again.

To Anon, Friday 6 June, 8:36 PM.

"You're a clown."

Are you trying to provoke an emotional reaction in me?

"I won't be responding again."

Is this some sort of threat? some sort of "Zardoz has spoken?"

In a way, your ad hominems are humourous.

Keep in mind a few things.

(1) the top of the site says "cfnyfm 102.1" Despite silly tags such as "The Edge," the call letters are still CFNY and the frequency is still 102.1

(2) the slogan "Spirit of Radio" went well into the 90's.

(3) the conversation is described as VISNJA!. Perhaps it's you who really doesn't belong here.

Again, go create your own conversation "1988 and before" (or if 1987 was so crappy, "1986 and before"). I promise not to post anything on it--at least nothing after the year you suggest.

You seem to have a problem with free speech and/or this apparantly loose forum.

Ah, I remember 1983-4. Thank goodness there was a Q107, CBC-BNW, and college stations to act as a counter. I remember people who listened to CFNY. Many were cool. Some however, were stuck-up trendoids.

So I feel free to comment on the then and now.

Bill Yetman: Martin Streek's okay as DJ's go, but as for the show, despite a few gems, I don't like it much better than their current programming.

As bad as, Linkin Park is, it's no worse than How Soon is Now or the extended version of Fool's Gold.

Saturday nights are good--as they've always been.

By the way Anon, do you ever listen to the Rush song the slogan came from?

Do you ever listen to the first song CFNY ever played?

Hint: it wasn't West End Girls, Hungry Like the Wolf, Don't Say That It's Just For White Boys, or Just Can't Get Enough.

Yep, looks like my posting's on.

Seems somebody here yet believes in free speech.

Read: no one should be the public's Great Authority on radio, or music, etc.
Just make a point - agree - disagree - raise an issue, provoke some responses - then Done. The point's been said.
If I recall the ratings:
CFRB always ruled the airwaves - so there! But that retro memory just doesn't belong here.

Personal opinions repeatedly flamed as 'facts' be damned!

I'm hoping that I will not have to censor anything here. We've been lucky enough thus far that everyone here has had intelligent, thoughtful things to say. In the entire time I've had the BBS running on the site, I've only ever had to delete one offensive message. I'm quite proud of that!

Yes the site is about CFNY, the Spirit of Radio. But what CFNY has evolved into today is still relevant to allowable topics of conversation, I think. That said, this topic is about Visjna. If you don't want to talk about Visjna, start a different topic.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I hope and trust that I wasn't that exception! :-)

I was thinking of taking the issue of what CFNY's become and how warranted it is to talk about elsewhere on this BBS.

I supppose like others, I was attracted to the fact that there was a pretty active conversation going on in this catagory.

As for Visjna, why do I get the feeling that she might wind up ON CFRB? How close to 30 is she?

Then again, she might go to CBC-1--like Lee Carter has.

I agree!!!! I have this feeling that she will be popping up somewhere soon I keep hearing her voice on radio & television ads...The one thing that must be said is that many, many talented people worked at CFNY and the Edge...(The Brother & Martin who are still there)....

Not only is Jim Richards on CFRB, but he's perhaps the only talk show host who can make fun of young-offender-less-immigration-extra-security perennialists .

Supposedly, he has Visnja on his cell phone. Further, she says--to Jim on air--she'll be at the Much Music awards--though not in an official capacity.

Did anybody see Visnja @ the Much Music awards? Anyone get a chance to ask her what she's doing?

How stupid are program directors anyway? If I was a program director for a radio or tv station I would give Visnja her own show right away! She is so cool. She has an amazing sense of humor. She was the best thing on Toronto radio, and it wasn't even close.

I hope she looks as hot as she sounds. Didn't she say she was a temptress on the air?

Does anyone have a picture of her? If so, could you please put it on a website somewhere!!!

I saw her at the after party....Still pleasant as ever!!! From what I gather, she's looking for work...she still doing the voice-over's but is looking for something full time. I agree someone should hire her for either radio or television....

I heard Visnja last night on CFRB with Jim Richards. They sounded great together. I finally received my Visnja fix-it's been too long!!! Does that mean she's coming back to radio?????
