The Mars Bar - May 29th/04

Post by bdyyz »

The Mars Bar presents an evening of atmospheric visuals in collaboration with Black Lab. Jaison Gibson, founder of Black Lab, will be premiering his “Reflections of Toronto”, via a multi-dimensional projected kaleidoscope of video clips. Other Black Lab artists will be highlighted by an array of visuals interspersed throughout the cavernous confines of The Gladstone Hotel Ballroom.

Promoter Bryen Dunn remains focused on making this monthly event an “extravaganza for the arts”. While the music is the background, each evening will feature various local artists from all spectrums. Black Lab is an arts collective started by Gibson in 2003. Gibson states, “The concept of Black Lab is to promote peace and understanding by expressions of art”. He describes his own personal collection of abstract images as therapeutic art. Gibson’s hidden talent emerged as a result of a personal tragedy that forced him to look at his surroundings in a different perspective.

Alexander Suslov is also being spotlighted and is highly regarded around the world. He has been creating expressions of peace for many years, and has had exposure through various international exhibitions. Suslov’s Infinity is a five piece philosophical interpretation of nature, and many of his other pieces delve into the inner sanctions of his past experiences growing up in Russia.

This exclusive one night only showing will take place on May 29th at The Mars Bar in the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom. David Marsden continues to awaken the senses with an eclectic mix of old and new alternative tunes.

The Mars Bar: Last Saturday of the month, beginning at 9:00 P.M. with a $5.00 early admission charge. Location: The Gladstone Hotel Ballroom, 1214 Queen Street West. Phone: 416 531 4635.

June brings a special edition of The Mars Bar on Sunday June 27th. Details are to be announced soon.
