Twitch: Twitch and Shout LP

Does anyone remember this band? Should I keep my mint condition LP? I don't have a turntable to find out! My daughter needs a record to do a craft project...

PERRY!!! STOP!!!!! That record is a piece of Canadian history!! From an indie band, no less, that will probably never be reissued on CD (altho I could be wrong).

I wouldn't surrender it for a craft project if I were you. Don't you have any old Led Zeppelin records that would do just as well? ;-)

The LP is safe!

Wish I had a turntable to listen. Now I am very curious. Is there a public place that has good turntables like the U of T? I remember there were listening rooms in Hart House, are they still there?

Port -I can't let it go without listening - stay tuned.

Let's try this again. The Led Zeppelin idea is good, but I'm not sick of them as I don't listen to the Led Zeppelin stations. And I only own two of their albums.

So here's my next selection - "Night and Daydream" by Ananta. Members were Ilan Chester, Mark Francis, Patrick Bernard, Jorge Spitery, Charly Spitery and Dave Early. Issued in 1978. Only Google reference listed this a nomination for one of the least collectible albums out there...

Hello,

First of all, it's quite nice when people remember you and I certainly appreciate the mention after all these years. I was the lanky guitar player in Twitch who wrote the songs and jumped around alot.

It's been some time since the Twitch And Shout LP was available but I'm pleased to announce that early in 2006, Bullseye Canada is releasing a special remastered 25th Anniversary Edition CD complete with bonus tracks, a booklet containing lots of photos, the whole shebang. So Perry, if you really need to use our old LP for something else, you now have options. Myself, I've found it comes in handy for holding the window open on warm evenings.

There's even talk of us playing a one-off concert in Toronto about the same time with our old Bomb Records labelmates Bob Segarini, and the Battered Wives. Bryan, Twitch's bass player, Steve the drummer and myself just got together over this past weekend for the first rehearsal and from what I can tell, we sound just like ......well, Twitch.

If any of you wish to be kept informed about all this, please let me know.

On one of my first trips as a grown up to the Greater Metropoltan region know as TorBurOakassaugamilton, I saw Twitch in 1979 in downtown Hamilton. It was great fun, as I was going through a Buddy Holly phase and thought the leader guitarist/singer (who I guess is Garwood) looked a lot like Buddy Holly. And he did jump around a lot.

Now - remember the Grottybeats? They were the hosue band at a bar underneath the Hyrdo Building on College and did admirable Beatle covers. They released their own tunes too - kind of electro-dance -poppy stuff. I recently found it on a blog called Little Hits which has tons of indie and lost new wave.

I never have heard the area referred to as \"TorBurOakassaugamilton\", but that about nails it. We played several places in Hamilton in '79, one time with the Romantics.

And you're correct, many folks thought I resembled Buddy a bit.

Speaking of the Grottybeats, after Twitch split up in 1982, our sound man Monty went on the road mixing audio for them.
