Hello all.
I'm new to this site, but I visited Canada a few times and I must be honest, it's hard not to be jealous of the stuff stations like CFNY get to play as opposed to our stations in the States. Actually, I'm insanely jealous. Anyway, I didn't listen as often as most of you, but in my early trips I just go around the dial just to get a sample.
Back in the day I heard about two-thirds of a show called Brave New Waves when I was in Toronto for a week. Unreal stuff. I still listen to it online from time to time, but those early days were something. I'm not sure if CFNY got that deep before.
Anyway, I'm just trying to put some of these old shows on CD, since I'll be going on another trip (to Japan this time, and I need a really good soundtrack). If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Email me if you can.

Brave New Waves is the long-running late-night music show on the publicly-funded CBC. Plays a much more adventurous and interesting selection of music than cfny.

Yes, I know that now since I read about it recently. Like I said, I still listen to it online once in a while, but somehow, maybe it's nostalgia, those early days (the music that was played then) really stood out. It was at a time when I had NO idea that there was a world beyond Right Said Fred (forgive me). Anyway, any help with this is appreciated.
By the way, I penciled in August for my Japan Trip.

I'm fairly sure that you can contact CBC to inquire about getting tapes of the old shows. I don't see any other way of doing it.
