I do not know why but the constantly updated playlist on the main webpage of therock.fm does not list most of the songs that the MarsBar plays. During his show, the playlist shown on the website is incomplete and the playlist that I see are songs that seem to be new and/or follow the general format of The Rock.
David, the spirit is alive with you on the air.

I suspect it is because David makes up his playlist as he goes along, much like it was done (for the most part) at CFNY in the good ol' days.

Hi Scott,
Thank goodness for David making up his own playlist. You'd think he was doing that naturally and for so long.
However, I was referring to the large intervals of times between songs that were posted under "now playing". Tonight, the rcok.fm posted songs that were played by Marsden at 7:02, 7:22, 7:36, 9:01 and 9:36 pm. Therefore, only 5 songs were listed in a span of over 2.5 hours to the best of my knowledge because at this time, the "now playing" section will not reload.
Before Marsden's time slot, the intervals between songs are around 4 to 6 minutes so they obviously posted every song that was played. Too bad they can't follow suit by displaying the complete list of songs that Marsden played during his time slot.
Thanks to the other people who post the times and songs played.
Just my .02 worth.

Over at www.marsdenplanet.com, there's a link (click on the building at the far right once you've entered the flash site) for David's play-list for both nights, but so far these lists remain blank (unless I don't have something set up right on my computer).
There's lots of other interesting info there if you click on the other buildings in the city scape.

Where else can you e-mail a comment and have MARSDEN compliment you on air. Yes it is shallow, but we are all working on our 15 minutes of fame, Thanks Dave!!!!!
If the EDGE did this, they might actually have an audience that cares!!
OH, the memories..

I Live in Waterloo, and have been suffering a very long time. Now thanks to your site, I have some delight in knowing that Mr. David Marsden is back on the radio on The Rock.

Xmas with the MarsBar was very special, just like it used to be. He played that Slade song, and then he played it again! And, how nice to hear David read "The Night Before Christmas" and then thank Bob Lehman (aka Bob Noxious) for the sound effects. Merry Christmas, David, and thank you!

Yeah, David Marsden, first from CHUM FM. He and David Pritchard, and Reiner Schwartz. They created Album rock, rebels playing whole albums. That was when CHUM FM was cool. In the seventies. I don't live close enough to get 94.9, but could sometimes hear him through static on my back porch in the summer. I get phased out by our crappy local country station. That ain't country. But I digress.
I do notice that David throws in the odd bit of junk, but that's because he has to.
My opinion is. Yeah on the one hand CANCON is a good thing in that we get to hear great Canadian stuff, but being a former community radio dj, the CRTC rules are strict. 50% Canadian every hour. But when David plays it, you'll hear a Bryan Adams tune that wasn't a big hit. He picks the Canadian stuff you DON'T hear on "Classic Rock" stations.
CANCON is the reason I GET SICK OF Canadian artists, 'cause they are played TOO OFTEN. That's just my opinion, but if I hear Nickelback one more time, or Alannis, or what's her face from Napanee, I think I'll puke.
