Name that tune?

I'm trying to recall a tune from 'the good ol' days, maybe called "Call Me Luckey" by "The Singing Fools"...some band out of Ottawa if I recall. So how wrong am I, and how can I get some of their music?

Tom - You're correct on "Call Me Lucky". The Singing Fools were from Ottawa and they also had gotten some airplay with "The Apocalypso" in some college radio, but I don't recall hearing it on 'ny.

I didn't see the "Lucky" ep listed on GEMM for sale, so you may have to try trawling thru various used vinyl shops.

I'm pretty sure there was another song...kinda science-fictiony, someone's taking me somewhere in my dreams sorta thing...howz that for both vague AND obscure. I've been working the neurons, but just can't recall the details, but I always wanted to find it. Can't seem to turn the band up in P2P either. Anyway, thanks Audiofool, for the tip.

There was another tune that was released on an Amok records comp called German Canadian Friendship. Their track on this lp was "Funkenstrassen" which had some 'atmospherics' (similar to short-wave radio interference) at the opening of the track.

Vis a vis the Call Me Lucky track, I might be wrong but if you were to get 'wire-d' on 'lime' rickey, if that isn't being too obvious ;) you might be able to locate that track.(nudge, nudge)

The Singing Fools' song is also on the full air check - Dec 1985, Jim Reid.

Singing Fools "Call Me Lucky" is from a great 6 song EP by the same name. It was released in 1985 and is very rare. The other song that you are trying to recall is "Fly By Night". The Spirit used to also play the track "Jihad" from this release as well. Good luck, hope you're able to find it.
