Do you know these songs?

The first song was sung in English but the group could be foreign, perhaps French or English as there was a bit of an accent. It was a story about a guy in his house that had a plumbing leak of some sort. The refrain contained the words, "Mr. Plumber, plumber, I'm totally insane. The story talks about him having this plumbing leak and trying to telephone a plumber
to come out and fix things. His story spoke of 1:00 in the morning, then 2:00 in the morning and so on. The plumber does show up and at one point the lyrics go, "he asked me for the money", The beat was on the slow side but methodical. I believe it was mainly keyboard or synth work.

The other song you're going to know or not know by the lyrics. I hope you're not offended, but the song title could have been "slip it in". The best comparison I could give might be the vocalist sounding a bit like a Frank Zappa. There is the guy singing and also a girl singing. It reminds me a bit of SSQ (if you recall them). And the song is about "slipping it in" without any graphic representation, but that was what it was about. If you've heard that song, you'll know what I mean.

Got any suggestions or guesses?

The first song is "The Plumber" by Workforce. I recall only seeing this record once in used stores. The 12" I saw was released in Canada in a generic record label sleeve. It will probably be difficult to find.

I believe "The Plumber" was released on Matra Records out of Quebec. I think they had a connection with Unidisc. I don't believe they exist now, but you may want to contact Unidisc to see if they have the rights to the track.

That "Slip it In" Song couldn't be by Black Flag, if you're describing it acurately. Black Flag sounds less like SSQ than a cement mixer does. Black Flag were PUNK, man! And "Slip it In" by Black Flag wasn't very subtle, lyric-wise: "Say you don't want it, you don't want it, say you don't want it, and then you slip it right iiiinnnnn!!!". Not much 'grey area' there

Hello all... Cool site .. brings back so many good memories ... i wish I was youg again
Does anyone know the instrumental song playing in the background when Chris Sheppard would talk on the air Saturday Night. I can't rember exactly the words but it went something like this..

"Jamboney ... yeah yeah you know" and the rest would be really cool instrumentals. I spent years looking and listening but I never heard it since.
I know it's not much to go on but if this brings back memories for anyone .. please help

the other request is for the nobby klegg classic, "my old man". does anyone have an mp3 or any tape of the song?

Correction... it was John Otway! Otway also appeared on the VIZ Records single "Bags of Fun with Buster" by Johnny Japes and his Jesticles (aka XTC).
