What was the playlist for the spirit's first day?
am just wondering what songs did they play on the first day of operation and who was the spirit's first voice on air?

I vaguely remember a magazine or newspaper article from the early '80s that described a wacky little radio station in a yellow house in Brampton. It provided a lot of the back-story and made it sound like there was no playlist- just what the DJs happened to play. I think the main hook to the story were the WKRP comparisons.
The article made mention of one program where the announcer stated that the station was changing its format and from that point on would be playing only marching-band music. They then went on to actually play an hour or two in this format as a practical joke.
I'd love to read this article again if anyone remembers where it was published. McLean's? The Star?

Wasn't the first song ever played on cfny; Ambrosia - Nice, Nice, Very Nice? And the first song played on Club 102; Images In Vogue - In The House? BTW - what happened to Chris Shepperd on Jack-Fm on Saturday nights? I was enjoying that much better than the 99.9 staple retro tune saturdays. Just listening to an old radio cfny recording of Shepperd circa '87 (pre big voice) talking about the ep from Chubby King - Yo Pussface being the best selling from Starsound last week(members of Section 25, Cabaret Voltaire doing Beastie Boys rap to a Tackhead beat) good luck finding that anywhere! Now playing Meat Beat Manifesto - I Got The Fear. Great song!.....Sorry for the blabbering but dinner is cooking and this MacKlays Beer is just too cheap to sit in the fridge aging..something about the music
Maybe gone, but The Spirit lives on...
