Humble & Fred morning show (1989 - April 2001)

Fred has been a part of CFNY for longer than most people can remember. A part of the original Pete & Geets show, Fred stayed on as the morning sports announcer through Steve Anthony, Humble Howard, and all the morning show people in between. Left CFNY with Humble Howard in April of 2001 to do the morning show at Mojo 640 (what used to be Talk 640).

From Fred, November 2001:

First of all, let me say this. I'm lovin' the talk radio thing. It came along at the perfect time for Humble and I.

Cause we're old.. especially me.

Secondly, I love the idea of a reunion. There are so many great people I've worked with through the years, and I'd just love to see them again.

Thirdly, I went to Calypso Garden for some Carribean Chinese food on 16/11/2001. It's located in the strip plaza that used to house CFNY.

Whilst waiting for my food, I climbed the stairs to have a look at the old NY studios. For the most part, they're gone.

Nothing but cheezie lawyers offices and immigration hustlers.

But still there, somehow they survived, are the NY control room and production studio. There's no equipment of course, but the rooms are still intact. Stickers on the walls, nicotine on the roof and a lot of ghosts.

I stood there for a few minutes and my mind raced. I worked in that building for 15 years, and loved every stinkin goddamn minute of it. Yes, even when we played Madonna.

Sorry.

My point, if you're an old NYer, and you get the chance, check it out. Before its gone for good.

August 2003:

Humble and Fred have now moved to Mix 99.9 in Toronto.

August 2005:

Fred is no longer with 99.9, and isn't on the air anywhere for the moment.

March 2006:

Fred has got a new web site: http://www.freddiep.ca

March 2007:

Fred is posting monthly podcasts with Humble Howard on their web site .

July 2009:

Fred is now the program director of KRUZ FM and 101.5 The Wolf in Peterborough, Ontario.

October 2011: Humble and Fred have started a new podcast at http://www.humbleandfredradio.com .

June 2012: Humble & Fred have joined K-Rock 105.7 in Kingston to fill-in on the morning show for the summer.

January 2013: Humble and Friend announced a deal with Astral Media, airing a new comedy show on CHAM in Hamilton and CKSL in London, as well as on CFRB in Toronto, with potential for syndication to other stations.

May 2013: Humble & Fred can now be heard on SiriusXM comedy channel Canada Laughs weekdays from 7-9 am.
