Maie Pauts
Daytime announcer (1987 - April 2001)
Started off on overnights in 1987. Did a lot of different shifts until landing in middays in 1992. Despite the fact that she pronounces her name "May Pots" on-air, it's actually pronounced "My-ye Bouts".
Left on April 13 2001 to go to Mojo 640 (what used to be Talk 640). Listen to her last on-air goodbye
here
- and to the song she plays afterwards: "Goodbye Yesterday" by Nick Heyward.
From Alan Cross (Oct 2002):
She's now working for CHUM-FM. She is the host of Lights Out (10-midnight - shades of Alternative Bedtime Hour) and also does weekend/swing shifts. Also can be heard filling in for Marilyn Denis on occasion.
April 2010:
Maie now has the mid-morning slot on Toronto's
Boom 97.3
.

It was great knowing Maie during the early 80s at CKLN. She always came across as a very sweet person with great taste in pop and dance musics! I've been listening to her ever since then, on 'NY, Chum-FM, etc., mostly for that warm, fuzzy feeling of a familiar voice I could a put a face to, like a big sister, and for the better music she was allowed to play on 'NY. During the early 90s I'd randomly bump into her in clubs where she was guest-DJing. I think she was at 97.7 Hits FM then.
